When it comes to planning out the layout and design of your home with your home builder, you likely feel very excited. This is the part of the planning process when your hopes and dreams for your home are voiced and put into the structural plans for the home. While you may think of regular things like a large kitchen, a huge master bath, etc., there are so many other amazing things that you can also incorporate into the plans of your home. This article will discuss 3 great things to have your home builder include in your home.
A Central Vacuum System
If your home is large in size, or if you are someone who likes to vacuum often, it can be an excellent idea to have a central vacuum system installed in your home. This system is great for a variety of reasons. Not only does it provide you with vacuum outlets all over your home that suck the dirt directly into a holding container in your garage, but it also comes with an incredible vacuum that allows you to effectively vacuum both your hard floors and your carpeted floors. Also, to avoid having to carry a vacuum up and down the different levels in your home, you can have different vacuum hoses and vacuums stored on each level.
A Huge Walk-In Closet
While you may think of having large rooms, you may not consider how nice it would be to also have a large closet in your home. Having a huge walk-in closet can allow you to effectively store all of your clothes, shoes, bags, coats, etc. This can make it much easier for you to have access to all of these things, and will also likely help you to actually use all of these items. You can have your walk-in closet customized to include shelves for shoes, drawers for jewelry, hats, etc., custom closet lighting, and whatever else you can think of.
An Under-The-Stairs Play Area
If you have children, or if you plan on having children while living in your home, you should consider creating a fun under-the-stairs play area for them. This area will simply be an added area for them to enjoy playing with their toys, reading, and more. You can have this area customized to include fun paintings on the walls, colorful light fixtures, shelves for their toys and books, unique flooring, and anything that you think will make the area more fun and inviting for your current or future children.

This year, things were a little different over the winter. In winters past, I had to park my car in the driveway because my husband had our two-car garage filled with all of his man-toys. Each morning, I would have to struggle to break the ice and shovel the snow to get to my car, so last fall, I had enough and hired a contractor to build a garage just for me. My husband and I weren't sure about adding another structure to the property, but it is the best thing that we have done since we bought the house. Learn how my contractor helped my family with the design of the garage that he built.
